The Great Tropical
Jazz Party
is the annual event organised by the Magnetic
Jazz Association Inc, held on Magnetic Island in far north
Queensland each August. The jazz festival is
the signature music and entertainment event on Magnetic Island, attracting
visitors and jazz aficionados from all over the
world.
The Great Tropical Jazz Party is presented by the Magnetic Jazz Association, a not
for profit organisation that is firmly focused on promoting
the premier entertainment event on Magnetic Island. Now in
its 16th year, The Great Tropical Jazz Party is three nights
and two days of exciting jazz, held beneath the palms on balmy
Magnetic Island.
The 2012 event runs from Friday 24 August to Sunday 26
August and is proudly hosted by the Magnetic Island Lions Club and
the Magnetic Jazz Association. The Great Tropical Jazz Party 2012 will be held poolside at the Hotel Arcadia overlooking Geoffery Bay in Arcadia, Magnetic Island. All concerts are held alfresco in a tropical poolside setting.
Magnetic Island is just 20 minutes
by fast cat from Townsville, halfway between Cairns and
Mackay. The island is mostly National Park and green
space, with around 3000 permanent residents calling the idyllic
island home. It's a vibrant community of locals who
delight in showcasing the natural attractions of the
island to visitors. The Great Tropical Jazz Party forms the
perfect opportunity for visitors to enjoy the ambience of
this laid back tropical island.
